Benefits
Benefits of our Programs:
- The one-on-one peer counseling will provide these children with sufficient information to help them adopt safe sexual behaviors and protect themselves from abuse and exploitation.
- We’ll provide a forum where children can speak openly about the impact of HIV and AIDS on their lives and the support they need to effectively protect them and cope with being infected or affected by HIV and AIDS.
- At the Home of Hope, sharing information on a child’s HIV status is guided by the principle of best interests. Informed consent of children and/or care-givers privacy and confidentiality are preconditions.
- Provide these kids access to positive-living counseling and special nutritional and medical support is ensured for children living with HIV.
- Prevention and testing will be encouraged for the children. We shall work with the local medical centers to provide testing services and medication as needed. Testing will not be used as a pre-condition for admission to the program.
- For HIV-positive kids, we’ll ensure early access to care and treatment, and antiretroviral therapy will be provided based on needs as well as national legislation regulating access to antiretroviral therapy.
- Children infected or affected by HIV and AIDS will be listened to in all decisions affecting their lives, including decisions about their care, treatment and protection.
